" Slide guitar makes 'Hacienda Motel' hella sexy." - Nicole
I pack light in comparison to these ladies.
The drive was about 4 hours and we got stuck in traffic a few times. But it was an opportunity to take pictures of the trippy sunset with our iphones.
" We are driving into the future!!!!!!"
The hotel was quite chic and not too expensive. The hotel was fully booked and there was already a line at 7:30 for the show.
And you could buy a Jupiter Hotel thong in order to be the sexiest advertisement.
Before the show, we consulted our iphones for a good restaurant. Chips and guacamole are not sufficient for dinner even if we pretend it to be at least once a week. We went to a place called Frank's Noodle House where it was literally a two story house. They handmade their noodles and it was fucking carbohydrate heaven.
Kelsey was probably laughing at the drunken group of guys next to us.
Show started at 9. We all got our drinks and watched the first band-- Deep Sea Diver. Nicole and Kelsey decided to go down the more unfortunate route of beers before wells. The second act was Bryan John Appleby, they had a banjo! Pickwick was the last act and even if they didn't play the apartment favorite song Blackout, it was a blast dancing like a happy drunk fool.
We don't know who Nicole was trying to focus on.
Instead of going to Sizzle Pie, we head to the hotel room right after the show. Hours later, I woke up in the same clothes with my glasses still on.
The Jupiter Hotel--So you can use your QR code app that you downloaded in early 2011 and scan it from space!
Watched some hotel tv (Law and Order OF COURSE) then headed out for breakfast. We were initially going to go to a biscuit place that Kelsey heard about but waiting in the rain for food sounded awful. We parked, walked around, and found a place called the Paradox Cafe.
Show me your Tom HaverFACE!
We all ended up getting the same thing: eggs with breakfast potatoes, biscuits with almond gravy, and two veggie sausage patties. Along with dark chocolate almond pancakes for breakfast-dessert.
Sea themed bathrooms are a big deal to Cashmerevelvetcandycane.
When you go to Portland, there are a few musts. That includes going to Powells. That beautiful and scary mecca for bibliophiles. I was undergoing sensory overload the whole time. I had to shyly ask someone to show me how to get to the second floor. After finding over 50 dollars worth, I had to stop.
The best section is the cookbook sales shelf.
In order to kill more time, we wander downtown to look at places we normally wouldn't because of no sales tax~
Cargo--a big warehouse full of items from other cultures and random shit to sell you i.e. a wooden pencil that Nicole needs to learn how to wittle.
We got back to the apartment Saturday night. We encountered snow on the road and snow was expected for the night/next day.
Aka reading new books
In the cold
The most important thing from Portland, " beer before liquor, never been sicker." #icantbelievehowmanytimesisaidiphone #firstworldproblems
